"PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE"

DATELINE: CHOCOLATE CITY (March 1, 1665)

Fellow passengers, it’s another beautiful day in the Limoverse. We couldn’t get away from last week’s cosmic encounter fast enough, but when the Limo speedometer hit 88 MPH…something happened.

When we emerge the year is 1665 and we’re on the west coast of India. Portuguese and British forces are battling for possession of a territory along the coast. They call it Bombay, but that’s a temporary condition.

As clouds of gunsmoke part a mothership alights. The jetbridge hits the ground with a splat and a figure clad in jeweled tunics descends. He surveys the scene right and left, waving fetid air off his nose. “For funk’s sake,” he says, then strides toward the governor’s mansion.

We pop the latches on the golden trunk he left behind to find a meal of

Black dal

With a cocktail to accompany it:

Sir Collins

And for dessert:

Passionfruit cheesecake bars

which we’ll enjoy by matchlight in the vanilla suburbs.
